Hello from Neosho
Hello,
I recently stumbled onto meshtastic via Youtube, was surprised to find this website. I am in Neosho, I am looking at a Heltec H2T device from Muzi for my first. I would like to get a network setup so that I could communicate from Neosho to Joplin, but being this is my first time in the comms space, I have no experience with line of sight or knowledge on range. What would it take? Does every hill stop comms completely? Sorry for all the questions. I still plan on getting the device to tinker with and maybe get some others in my social group for hiking purposes where there is no cellular signal.
Really cool that there are already devices around the Granby/Stark City Area.

Hey, sorry, I just noticed this. We also have a FB group.
All the way from Neosho will be difficult to reach Joplin, but the more people that get on board with Meshtastic, the more likely we will link up. That said, we also have MQTT that can link Neosho with Joplin.
900mhz is fairly line of sight, but there are instances where it travels beyond that. I have a station G2 on a 25ft pole and I can hit Mt. Vernon sometimes. It just depends on conditions.
