Testing
I'm doing some testing on a rak wisblock. this is going to be a solar node to put on my tower. I can see other nodes and see their public chat. Bet when I try to send a test message it fails. thought I would ask if anyone can see w0uqj_base. Probably should just reflash it. LOL

Edit: note to self. double check your install. Tha battery mount failed and somehow popped off the ipex connecter. Time for a new radio module.
Yikes, no good to hear about the connector.
Unfortunately, my nodes are in a high-rf environment that I have determined to be cellular towers. I'm going to mitigate that in the next few days with a cavity filter (I hope!) That said, I am not hearing very much. Maybe some of the others have? Where are you located again?
If you connect directly to several nodes and do not hop, you should be able to send on the default channel. If you have it in Ham mode, no one will hear you as all the traffic is encrypted.
What kind of configuration are you running?
